food for thought
I've had the pleasure of partnering with Athira Emmanuel in her project, Food For Thought. Being around Athira is like being bathed in warm, nurturing light, and eating her food is no different. I have learned a lot from Athira about resolving my own relationship with food, and how to radically love myself. She is a truly a legend. I am honored to introduce Food For Thought.

Food For Thought from athira Emmanuel
Food for Thought began with a simple desire: to learn how to care for myself.
For much of my life, I wasn't a confident cook. My journey into the kitchen began through my own search for nourishment and wellbeing. As I learned to care for my body, I also discovered a love for cooking and a deeper appreciation for the role food can play in our lives, not only as something that sustains us, but as a way of expressing care, fostering connection and bringing people together.
Over time, what began as a personal practice grew into cooking for communities, retreats, gatherings and the people around me. I found great joy in witnessing the comfort, connection and enjoyment that food, prepared with love, can bring.
Inspired by traditional methods, years of personal growth, and a deep passion for sustainability, Food for Thought is an exploration of nourishment. Through recipes, products, workshops, and shared experiences, I hope to empower people to care for themselves and the planet.
For me, Food for Thought is about living intentionally, cultivating meaningful relationships, and rediscovering the simple practices that help us feel more connected to ourselves, to one another, and to the world around us.

Cultured Ghee
I first began making ghee for my own kitchen.
As I explored traditional foods and learned more about nourishment, ghee became one of those simple ingredients that I returned to again and again. Making it from scratch offered a level of quality, transparency and taste that I couldn't find elsewhere, while also reconnecting me with practices that have been valued across generations.
Each batch of Food for Thought ghee is handcrafted using single-origin, grass-fed, cultured butter. It's made to order in small quantities and packaged in community-collected jars. This is a part of the low-waste approach that reflects the values behind Food for Thought.
Simple, versatile and deeply rooted in traditional food cultures, this ghee is made with care. It's intended to be shared and created with the intention to bring more nourishment and enjoyment into everyday life.
This ghee is the first product of Food for Thought.
